Claire Hall
Claire Hall has always had a passion for art and she would compare this passion for creation as a sort of ‘first love’. Thus, when it came to making a decision as to what area of study would best suit her long-term career goals she decided to attend Ryerson University for Fashion. Claire felt that would bring her more ‘luck’ in securing a career in the arts. She asserts that she would have loved to attempt to become a professional artist, however, she realized that “most artists are not really successful until after they are dead”. Thus she forged ahead and subsequently acquired her Bachelor of Design in Fashion.
Once graduated, Claire traveled abroad for a year. Shortly after arriving home she began working as a wardrobe stylist with a small film company in Hamilton, called Fenian Films. She adored her role as a stylist however the work was too inconsistent. At this point in her young career she began to study graphic design, which led to a small business venture, Claire Hall Design. She created everything from menus, posters, business cards, invitations, photography – you name it! She believes that this move was great for many reasons but she did not enjoy the amount of time she spent on her computer.
Thus, Claire decided that she would move back to Toronto and search for a position in her primary area of study – fashion. After an extensive job search, she became sales manager at NADA Fashion Designs Inc. It is a small company so they recognized Claire’s artistic talents very quickly, in turn giving her much responsibility. She now travels across the globe exhibiting designer clothes to eclectic buyers. Claire attests that she has “no idea what is in store but whatever it is, I am sure that it will be great”.
During Claire’s spare time she continues to paint and photograph all that interests and inspires her.
