Firstly, we’d like to thank all who attended our Gingerbread Village Fundraising event for United Way. We hope you enjoyed the festive carolers, gingerbread cookie decorating and especially the gingerbread houses! They were quite the sight to see so thank you to those of you who decorated your hearts out!
We are hopeful that the new year will bring even more traffic to Village Square as new tenants will be setting up shop soon! Also, we will be continually celebrating all that downtown Burlington has to offer by being a part of nearly all downtown events (ie watch out for our involvement in the Sound of Music this upcoming spring - it’s going to be great!).

What’s Happening:
•Village Square Burlington hosts the 3rd annual GingerBread Village fundraiser for United Way of Burlington and Greater Hamilton
•12 decked out gingerbread houses for all to bid on at our silent auction while sipping hot chocolate and listening to our carolers sing us into the holidays!!
•Every Bid gets you a ticket for a New Years Themed gift basket full of special treats.
•Mayor Cam Jackson flips the switch to light up the Village Square tree at 5:00pm.
•Little decorators can pull out all the stops at our designer cookie station overseen by Santa’s elves.
On December 13th we’ll be providing another cookie decorating station and at noon & 2pm a story teller from A Different Drummer Books will be here reigning in the season with a reading of The Night Before Christmas - you won’t want to miss it!!!

ATTENTION PHOTOGRAPHERS!
As of May 1st, 2009 PHOTOGRAPHY PERMITS are now required to take photographs at Village Square.
A one-shoot permit may be purchased in Village Square prior to shooting for a total of $45.00, plus GST. Alternatively, a “Season Permit” may be purchased. This includes up to twenty photography shoots, to take place at a rate of no more than 3 scheduled shoots per week during the period from May 1, 2009 to September 31, 2009, for a total of $500.00, plus GST. Notwithstanding the fact that the photographer has purchased a Season Permit, each specific shoot date and time must be booked, in advance of shooting. As well, a “Wedding Package Permit” may be purchased for two photography shoots, for a total of $70.00, plus GST.
Permits can be purchased from Artists Walk in the center of Village Square. In addition to purchasing a permit, a photographer must book a specific shoot date and time, in advance of shooting. The permit fee, including the fee for a Season Permit, is not refundable, even in the event of cancellation of a booking or non-use in whole or in part of the permit. Village Square can book up to eight photographers throughout the day 2 groups at a time in four time slots: 7:00am – 10:00am, 10:00am – 1:00pm, 1:00pm – 4:00pm, 4:00pm – 7:00pm

June 20th! Come and Join the FUN!!
Celebrate music with us at the Downtown Streetfest during the Sound of Music Festival! Paradiso Restaurant will be serving all day long on the patio in the center of Village Square on Saturday June 20th. Carly Jo, a fantastic local band, will be performing from 11am-1pm! So grab a delicious meal and listen to the music fill the air at the Square!
Post-parade performances will be underway by 1 (on Pearl St) and a couple of great fashion shows will also be taking place (Pearl St) in the afternoon. We’re excited about this weekend and we hope you come out to join the fun!
